Signature II Displays now with LED Technology

Fort Lauderdale October 2009: Nauticomp, world leading manufacturer of high quality displays for the leisure and military maritime environments, introduces the very latest in its Signature II series of waterproof, sunlight readable displays for the yachting market at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show.

Now with LED backlight technology, Signature II is the newest generation of Nauticomp’s bonded glass displays. The range of 12” 15” or 19” units have been designed and engineered into extra slim casings to provide the helmsman/navigator with the opportunity to incorporate a much larger display into a confined bridge area than was previously possible.

Optical enhancing of the bonded glass provides outstanding clarity and greatly improves the ability to use the displays in direct sunlight. All Nauticomp displays are fully waterproof, built to IP67 standards, allowing complete freedom to position the display where it is needed most. Signature II also provides both AC and DC power options.

To ensure the display can be tailored to the helmsman’s night vision requirements the displays can be easily dimmed to any level from 0 to 100% and selectable as red on any input. With 6 inputs accepting DVI, VGA, NTSC, PAL, and SECAM, the Signature II displays can show any choice if information selected separately or combined, with the resolution scalable up to SXGA.

Ryan Moore, President of Nauticomp Inc, commented, “We have been advancing the technology behind bridge displays for many years by listening to the actual needs of mariners. We have therefore designed our products to improve the way that vital information is displayed on board. We were one of the first company’s to introduce bonded glass displays and of course our dim to red dimming technology is class leading. We are confident that the new Signature II range will be a valuable addition to a great many vessels in the future.”

The new Nauticomp Signature II displays can be seen at the Fort Lauderdale Boat Show, on booth 533, in the electronics tent of the Bahia Mar.
